Latest Update

We are under 80 days until we are due now. Won't be much longer and we will have a new member to our family.

I posted details on our surprise baby shower in Indiana, and promised to post pictures as soon as I had some.

We were in Austin last week and had another baby shower while we were there. It was really nice. My sister (Megan) invited a bunch of my friends and family over and we had a really nice time. Tim and the guys went to eat BBQ while the girls all stayed back at Megan's. There was lot of yummy food, and of course, cake. The weather was really bad, so a few people were not able to make it the drive in.

Katie (one of Megan's best friend's) makes great cakes. She found a duck cake that had little duckling cupcakes to go with it. It was very cute. Megan decorated the rest of the house with ducks as well. It was very cute. I love all the baby duck stuff we have been given from everyone. Here are some pics from the shower in Austin.

Tim and I were really lucky. With the 2 showers and all of our wonderful family and friends we really got a lot of great stuff to help us get started with the baby. There were a few things we still needed so we went shopping yesterday. We had a lot of fun grabbing all kinds of stuff at the baby store yesterday. I think we are almost ready with the nursery. We just need to get a few more small items then it's ready.

We have been moved from ever 4 weeks to every 2 weeks for doctor appointments now. We had one on Friday that went well. We didn't get an ultrasound this time, they just listened to the heartbeat and checked all of my normal stuff (weight, blood pressure, etc). They said the heartbeat sounds good and strong. It was cool to hear it. The only other time we have heard it was early on. They said it is about 150-160 right now.

Tim just finished putting together the baby swing that we picked up yesterday. I think I will go check it out now. I hope everyone is doing well, and I will post pictures of the nursery as soon as we have it ready. Should not be much longer.

100 Days to go...

Wow, 100 days left! In some ways that seems like forever, but in other it seems like it's right around the corner. So many changes going on. I have grown a lot in the past month. I have gone from looking like I could be pregnant to definitely being pregnant. It's kind of nice though. People don't look at me like a fat girl anymore; they look at me like a mom to be.

Tim and I have been working really hard to get the nursery ready. We had used it as a guest room for years, so we had lots of stuff to clear out. Luckily I work with a few people new to LA that were in need of the stuff we were trying to sell. It really worked out great. After we got everything out we started working on getting the baby stuff in. We had picked out the crib, dresser, glider, etc a while back. My mom ordered the glider for us a while back so it had come in around the same time the rest of the stuff was going out. However, the crib and dresser were back ordered so we had no idea when we would be getting them. The store assured us that it was not discontinued, but that the warehouse was just out of stock. They said that we could not order at all until the warehouse had them in, and suggested we just call back daily until we could place the order. I called everyday and for weeks was told the same thing, 'Not yet call back tomorrow.' Finally last week the dresser was in. The crib was still back ordered, and since I had no idea when it would be in I decided to go ahead and order the dresser. It should be in sometime this week. Then I continued to call everyday for the crib. Two days later when I called they told me the crib had been discontinued and that they were not getting anymore and that I was basically out of luck. I totally freaked out. I told them they assured us that would not happen, that we had already ordered the rest of the room, etc. After I expressed how upset I was the guy on the phone agreed to hold the floor model for us. Tim and I drove out to see it that night. We really lucked out. They had sold a previous floor model just a few days before then a couple returned an opened model on Sunday. They put the returned model together and it had only been on the floor for 2-3 days. It was in good shape, and they gave us a great discount. So I was a bit stressed at first, but it all worked out in the end. Once we have the dresser in the room it will really look like a nursery. I can't wait.

We have our next appointment on Friday the 10th. After that we go to every 2 weeks instead of monthly appointments. I am sure this one will be interesting. The baby, and me, have grown so much. The baby has been sleeping a lot less, and kicking a lot more lately. It's very active. I don't get much sleep anymore. Between bathroom runs and midnight kicks I am up a lot. It seems like as soon as I fall asleep the alarm is going off. I keep wanting to tell myself I will be able to sleep more after the baby comes, but I know that's far from the way it will be. I have decided to just come to terms with the fact that I won't get much sleep for a very long time. I try and take naps every chance I get.

Well, that's about all I have to report for now. I will post pics of the nursery when it's done. Hopefully we will get some good baby pics Friday too (no more 3D, but the black and whites aren't bad).
